We want you to be delighted with the products you buy from us, which is why we guarantee that we fully comply with your rights to return items under the Distance Selling Regulations. Please read our Returns policy for full information.

All sizes are overall and measurements are approximate although we do try to ensure they are as accurate as possible.

We’re here to help, and we’re always happy to do our best to give advice over the phone. However, if the information you require is critical to your decision as to whether to buy or not, you must get it in writing if you might need to rely on it to resolve any potential misunderstandings.

Plants Terms and Conditions

We make every effort to ensure that all our plants are of the highest quality and are fully inspected prior to dispatch. If however you feel that the plant received is not in reasonable condition then please contact us IMMEDIATELY. Please bear in mind the following:

  • Is it in season? Plants will look different depending on the time of year. Out of season plants may be very bare in winter periods.
  • The images on the site are generally of a mature plant; what you ordered may have been a plug. A plug is a developing plant, nurtured through the early growth stages in a small container of nutrient rich compost/potting soil, ready to be ‘plugged’ into your garden. Please check your order confirmation if at all unsure.
  • Where plants are supplied in pots, the pot is included in the plant’s height specification.

It’s important that you take an image of plant as soon as possible so there is no doubt as to its condition when it was received. We may request the plant is returned to us for further investigation so we can establish the cause of the problem.

Not Planting Until The Weekend?

Should you receive your plants but have no plans to transplant within 24 hours then please bear in mind they are ‘Live’. Please ensure you open the packaging, water the plant and expose it to daylight until you are ready to plant. See care instructions for individual details.

We are unable to deliver any plants to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Republic of Ireland or countries outside of the UK


Once you place an order with Tropical Plants UK  you will receive an order acknowledgment email stating the items you have ordered. This does not constitute acceptance of your order.

Acceptance is acknowledged when your order has been shipped from our warehouse..

Non-acceptance of your order may be due to: being unable to authorise your payment, the product being unavailable, a product pricing or description error.

Copyright and use of our images and videos

Images, videos and text on this site are copyright Tropical Plants UK or our suppliers. Please contact us if you wish to use one of our images or videos: use of our images or videos without our permission is theft.
Images and videos owned by Tropical Plants UK may be hired for an initial fee of £1000 + VAT per image or video plus £100 + VAT per week per image or video. Your use of one of our images or videos on your website signifies your agreement to these terms and conditions. They constitute a contract between you and us governing your use of these images or videos.

On occasion we have used images that have been released into the public domain under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Generic license or the GNU General Public License. In these cases the specific images are required to be redistributed under the same or similar licence.


The security of your personal and credit card details is of the highest importance to us.
If you place your order online, no human being will ever be able to see your complete card details – this is why ordering online is safer than using your card in a store, where someone could see your pin number over your shoulder.
We use the latest Internet encryption with 128 bit SSL software developed by RSA Data.

When you are ready to enter your credit card details on the secure page, your browser will automatically inform you that encryption is being used.

Furthermore, all data stored on the secure server is encrypted again and protected by a firewall, the specification of which has been recognised by the major banks. You can confirm the security of your connection to the checkout page by checking the bottom of your browser window. When the connection is secure you will see a closed lock.

You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within this website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that you may only download such material and content for the purpose of using this website.


We aim to deliver your items within 4 working days. Our preferred courier is Royal Mail / Parcelforce and these will be used if possible. In certain instances an alternaate courier may be used. Delivery charges are £4.50 for smaller items and £6.99 for larger items. Postage is charged per basket not per item.Orders totalling £50+ qualify for free delivery.

Late deliveries and other problems

We do of course make every effort to ensure that your order will arrive within the delivery times shown on the website. Unfortunately, on rare occasions this may not always be possible. Should your order be delayed or fail to arrive when expected, please contact us immediately and we will do our best to resolve any problems. (Please note that our liability does not extend to providing compensation for late or failed deliveries.) We make every reasonable effort to ensure that your order meets – and hopefully exceeds – your expectations. Of course, in rare cases things can sometimes go wrong and we will always do everything we can to rectify any problems in a quick and satisfactory manner. However please note that we cannot be held responsible for any resulting additional expense you may incur unless with our prior agreement.
